Kritter Demo Update (v0.7.230608)


Okay guys, after playtesting the game in Feddback Quest #4 we had a lot of work to do.
Mostly improve the user experience, how the info are brought to the player and fix a ton of bugs.

As usual, patch notes are not the most interesting things to read so let me highlight you some of the key new features:

  • A beautiful and fully reworked Terrain during the runs and for the Start Screen
  • Reworks UIs and addition of other players healthbar in multiplayer
  • The Kritter now dies with a Ragdoll effect, and that's awesome
  • The game can be played with a wide screen and won't burn you graphic card anymore. + a 50 to 100% performance gain in runs.

After a month of hard work, I'm super proud of the result and I hope you will enjoy this new version. We still have a lot to do but you are helping us so much to do so by testing the game. Thank you so much <3

Patch note Kritter v0.7.230608 The "Huge Demo" build

General

  • Full rework of the start Screen. New environment + new animated UI + news links and buttons to share bugs and wishlist the game.
  • A screen "playable with a game pad" was added on game launch
  • The FPS are limited to 120 to avoid last generation graphic card to work at 100% for nothing
  • Bugfix : Settings were not saved
  • Bugfix : Play with a wide screen was not possible
  • Bugfix : It was possible to block the tuto if we took the tuto reward too quickly
The World - Full rework of the terrain with low poly style ground textures, new beautiful water and reworked waterfall area
  • Optimization of the grass with a 50 to 100% gain in performances
  • Colliders added so you can't go directly to the boss nor fall from the sides of the world
Gameplay
  • The lieutenants now drop chest that are locked until the end of the wave. When unlocked, the chest will drop one of the three Keys. This change was made to avoid any cutscene during the fight.
  • KRITTER DEATH : The Kritter now die with an explosion and a Ragdoll Effect -> This is super cool
  • Gamepad Auto Target : It's now way easier to hit something while playing with a gamepad
  • The boss door is now automatically opened when the three keys are picked and a narrative dialog is played
  • The wave and chest rewards can't suggest twice the same reward anymore
  • Crystals are picked slightly more quickly
  • Full Shield regen system rework
  • Add of a camera shake when the player is hit
  • Bugfix : The Big green blobs attack was twice too strong
  • Bugfix : Some enemie camps could never be cleared
  • Bugfix : Berzerk Blobs (the red ones) were not attacking Mark's shield
  • Bugfix : Quit a run while playing the engineer with the flamethrower active kept the flamthrower inside Mark
Roles and Skills
  • The three roles have been balanced : Defender a bit stronger but less tanky. Tracker damages reduces on high skill levels. Same for the Engineer.
  • Improved the flamethrower hitbox
  • Bugfix : The Engineer turret now fires properly on surroundings enemies
  • Bugfix : Right clicking while the left one was pressed broke the aim
Roguelite
  • Health regen at the end of a wave and the Dash perk are now implemented
  • Bugfix : The perk "+x% crit" was not unlock from the start and oddly positionned on the graph

UI

  • Shield regen and health regain are now shown on screen for the player and Mark
  • Rework of the enemie markers. The Radar perk will now show you where are every wave enemies
  • The reward screen is now animated
  • Rework of the Kritter creation screen to match the other UIs
  • The pause menu now pauses the game in solo and reduce the music volume as an audio feedback
  • It's now possible to skip dialogs with a gamepad
  • End of demo screen improvements
  • Add inputs on shop screen
  • A lot of missing translations. Like the inputs for QWERTY keyboard
  • Add key icon for the boss's keys
  • Bugfix : It was possible to click multiple time on the reward screen and get many rewards (yeah we had to remove that one)
  • Bugfix : Gamepad inputs would never show on role selection screen
  • Bugfix : The shield was not shown on healthbar at the beggining of a run
  • Bugfix : Healthbars of Mark and the Player would disapear uppon death
  • Bugfix : The player could disapear on the role selection screen
  • Bugfix : The settings could not be opened inside Mark
  • Bugfix : Exit pause with gamepad didn't work
Audio
  • New sound played 5 secondes before the beginning of a wave
  • New sound when the run is lost
  • Bugfix : Both night and day were playing at the same time on the start screen
  • Bugfix : The "back" sound could be hear twice while leaving some of the UI inside Mark
Multiplayer
  • Every player can now see eachother healthbars and names
  • Waves are bigger and enemies stronger the bigger the team is. Stats are like that for Health / Strength / Number
-- 1 player : H 100% | S 100% | N 100%
-- 2 player : H 150% | S 130% | N 150%

-- 3 player : H 200% | S 160% | N 200% 
-- 14player : H 250% | S 190% | N 250%

  • Every player now see the "aggro" VFX above enemies
  • Bugfix : the game could be lost just when the host died
  • Bugfix : the bleu crystals reward were given to every team mate
