Kritter Big Update (v0.7)


Alright guys. Exaclty two months ago we did a playtest here on Itch.io and we had a lot of amazing feedbacks.
We took them all very seriously, added them to our previous ToDo list and came up with a ton of new things.

It's not the most interesting read, for sure, but damn if I am proud of all the work done on my free time during those two months!

I hope you will enjoy this new version.

Patch note Kritter v0.7  (Probably the biggest update yet! )

General: 

  •  Rework of the day/night cycle for better visuals and better performances. 
  • Audio and texts can have different localizations (only english / french for now). For exemple the audio in french and the texts in english. 

The World: 

  •  The first biome has been entirely rework with a brand new level design
  •  The Boss of the biome is now hidden behind a locked door in a dedicated arena 
  • Enemy camps in the biome have been reworked and now have only one group of enemies to kill. No more additional waves on those. 
  • Enemy camps now have a brand new chest reward that will open the deckbuild reward screen 
  • Enemy camps now trigger visual and audio events uppon starting and finishing them 

  Gameplay: 

  •  The player now has the objective of finding the engine of Mark and will do so by killing the boss. 
  • Full rework of the game loop. During the first Act, the player now has to survive against 7 waves of ennemies. After that, the player can face the boss of the Act in a separate room. 
  • Finding Mark's engine will trigger the End of Demo cinematic 
  • Waves 3, 5 and 7 now spawn a lieutenant in addition to the wave. A unique foe that will drop a key for the Boss's door
  •  Some enemies are now berserkers and will always attack Mark, no matter what you do to them 
  • Two new enemies can be faced. Snaked that spit viciously in front of them and bearwolves that will jump on you.
  •  Integration of a new stat, the Shield, that count as health with regeneration capabilities. This stat will always be depleted before the real health 
  • The armor is now capped at 40% of damage reduction. 
  • The Revive Kit is now represented by a battery called F.A.I.L device and is a shared ressource between every players. The player will have to consume one by itself in solo player to resucitate and will consume one to resusrect a team mate in multiplayer. 
  • The F.A.I.L devices can be found as a deckbuild reward or in the shop
  • Telegraphs are now a thing! Some enemy's skills will show you a pattern to help you avoid them 
  • Bombers now target the player instead of Mark 
  • The shop will now offer to buy every items with a fixed price and a 50% increase after each buy of the same item. You still can have some luck and get betters items sometimes. 

  Skills: 

  • Skill weapons are now colorized 
  • All three roles have been rebalanced 
  • Improvements in movements skills to make them more customable 

Multiplayer: 

  •  We fixed about 40 bugs concerning the multiplayer and it is now possible to play up to 4 players in co-op. We won't detail every one of them but you get the idea 

Roguelite: 

  • The graph perks have been reworked to make it more fun 
  • Rework of the shop part 

UI: 

  • New loading screen that will stay on screen untill every player is fully initialized on the game scene. 
  • Full rework of the player HUD with clearer informations, a timer for the waves arrival, new colors for the player's and mark's healthbars 
  • Healthbars now integrate the shield 
  • The healthbar of the player and Mark are now visible in the game scene 
  • Uppon dying, a death screen will show and give the opportunity to the player 
  • Rework of the role selection screen with the mouse/keybaord inputs 

Audio: 

  • Ambiant sounds are now managed by the SFX chanel and won't be remove when playing musics 
  • Full english voice acting 
  • The Boss now has a voice and will cry for the death of its lieutenants 
  • New voice events when completing the objectives 

Bugs: 

  • Fix of a freeze that could occure when Mark's force field would collapse. 
  • It's not possible to go inside an environment object (big rocks / trees ...) by using the defender's heavy skill anymore 
  • Fix a bug where it was possible to start a game far from Mark
